Our People
The Drama Department is proud of all of the people that have made and currently make this department a creative, thriving, and exceptional place.
Our faculty has included some of the most illustrious names in Canadian theatre and theatre scholarship; Emrys Jones, Frank Holroyd, Tom Kerr, Ronald Mavor and Henry Woolf have all taught here. In addition, the department has benefited from a steady influx of internationally renowned teachers and theatre artists over the years -- people like George Ryga, James Reaney, Eric Schneider, Susan and Janet Wright, Kristin Linklater, Caryl Churchill, Michael Booth, Torben Jetsmark, Val Dean, Don Reider, Kim Coates, Jonathan Miller -- who have all offered lectures and workshops to our students.
There are five full-time tenure and tenure track faculty members in our Department, together comprising lauded performers, professional practitioners, historians and teachers. We are devoted to sharing our wisdom and passion for the arts with young, aspiring performers, passing the baton to those who will keep the performing arts alive in our province and beyond.
Equally vital to supporting the department's mission are our sessional and staff members - professional, administrative, clerical, technical, and production workers - whose work ‘behind the scenes' is essential to making us look good and maintaining our programmes.
