MA Students Recognized at the Parlement Franco-Canadien du Nord et de l'Ouest
Marie-Eve Presber and Angélique Tardivel Recognized at the Parlement Franco-Canadien du Nord et de l'Ouest
This weekend, Marie-Eve Presber and Angélique Tardivel, MA students within the Department of History, attended the Parlement Franco-Canadien du Nord et de l'Ouest (PFCNO) in Winnipeg. This yearly parliamentary simulation session gives young leaders between 16 to 25 years old a chance to learn more about the Canadian Parliamentary system by acting as journalists, deputies or cabinet members. Participants also received the opportunity to meet with several senators and deputies, including MP. Robert-Falcon Ouellette, Senator Raymonde Gagne, MP. Dan Vandal, Senator Patricia E. Bovey and MP Matt Wiebe.
Presber and Tardivel served as deputies in the parliamentary simulation and were assigned the circumscriptions of Chevreuil-Rouge and St. Albert-Edmonton. Both students performed admirably.
The Department of History would like to congratulate Marie-Eve Presber for being elected to sit on next year's Executive Cabinet as Government House Leader. It would also like to congratulate Angélique Tardivel for receiving the President's Award, which is awarded each year to a deputy who "distinguished him(her)self by their decorum and respect for the parliamentary procedures."
