Rewards and Challenges in Writing Biography

A book usually begins with a question, and a biography does as well. To answer it, one will invest years of research. Later, one needs to accurately tell the story and bring it alive. Whether writing about someone well-known or exploring an obscure life, a biographer faces the same questions as any author. What will drive the book? What if there is too much or too little material? How do you decide what goes into the book and what doesn’t? Will your story resonate with the public? As a reader of this popular genre and the author of three literary biographies, I will focus on these and other issues to generate a discussion.

In the meantime, you may check out the website, which covers biographies: http://www.biographile.com/.

All Welcome.
