Joseph Anderson

Joseph Anderson (MFA’08) is an artist based in Saskatoon. Before coming to the University of Saskatchewan, he earned a BFA at the University of Lethbridge. He has exhibited his work in numerous group and solo exhibitions, including the University of Lethbridge, Mendel Art Gallery (Saskatoon) and Dunlop Art Gallery (Regina).

Allan Casey

Allan Casey (BA’86) has written for a wide range of publications, from Adbusters to Reader’s Digest to The Walrus. He has won many Western Magazine Awards, a National Magazine Award for Environmental Reporting and the inaugural Science Journalism Award from the UBC Graduate School of Journalism. His book Lakeland: Ballad of a Freshwater Country won the 2010 Governor General’s Award for non-fiction. He lives in Saskatoon.

Scott Davidson

Scott Davidson holds a BA (‘14) in political studies with a minor in history. After working for The Sheaf during his time at the U of S, Scott has continued to work as a freelance journalist, writing about everything from sports to science to music. He lives in Saskatoon.

Kathy Fitzpatrick

Kathy Fitzpatrick began her life on the family farm in south-western Manitoba. She holds a BA from the University of Manitoba, and an honours bachelor of journalism from Carleton University. Her work in print and broadcast has taken her to points in Ontario, northern Manitoba, the Maritimes and finally to Saskatoon. In 2016 she retired from the CBC and now freelances.

Fiona Haynes

Fiona Haynes (BA’84, MA’90) completed history degrees at the U of S and a postgraduate diploma in copywriting and publishing in the U.K. She was an editor for British publisher Hodder & Stoughton and a writer for digital agency zu before returning to campus as university calendar editor. She is now a research facilitator in the College of Arts & Science.

Lyndall Mack

Lyndall Mack (BA’17) graduates from the U of S with an English honours degree this spring. As part of an internship program, she has been working in the College of Arts & Science communications office. She intends to seek opportunities in the publishing or communications industry after convocation.

Colleen MacPherson

Colleen MacPherson is a freelance writer and editor in Saskatoon. Her journalism career began in 1977 at the Prince Albert Daily Herald, and her work has appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines over the years. Colleen was editor of On Campus News at the U of S for 15 years.

Christopher Putnam

Christopher Putnam (BA’07) worked as a reporter in Saskatchewan weekly newspapers, a researcher in crime television and an online writer before joining the College of Arts & Science as a communications officer. He completed bachelor’s degrees in English at the U of S and in journalism at the University of King’s College in Halifax.

Betsy Rosenwald

Betsy Rosenwald joined the College of Arts & Science as a communications officer in 2007. Previously, she was the communications co-ordinator for the Mendel Art Gallery and art editor for the literary magazine Grain. A visual artist, she earned a BA from Beloit College in Wisconsin and an MFA from Brooklyn College in New York.

James Shewaga

James Shewaga is a communications co-ordinator and is serving as interim news editor in University Relations at the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to joining the U of S, he worked in the daily newspaper industry after graduating with a bachelor of arts in journalism and communications from the University of Regina.

Arts&Science is published for alumni, faculty, students and staff of the College of Arts & Science by the communications office of the College of Arts & Science, University of Saskatchewan.
