Familiarity with Benjamin Britten’s operas reveals a network of preoccupations with his protagonists’ situations and character. Andrew Mead, professor of music theory, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, will trace examples of this in Britten’s operas, from Peter Grimes to Death in Venice.
