Arts and Science Student Hub opens on USask campus
The new hub is home to student services and study abroad programs

The University of Saskatchewan (USask) College of Arts and Science has opened a new space dedicated to serving students.
The Arts and Science Student Hub is located on the first floor of the Arts Building at the bottom of the ramp. The hub is a new home for study abroad programming and student advising in the college.
“The Arts and Science Student Hub will make student services more visible and easier to access. It is one of the ways we are improving the student experience and putting students first in the College of Arts and Science,” said Dr. Peta Bonham-Smith (PhD), dean of the College of Arts and Science.
Built in the former Canada Post and Shop USask tuck shop space, the hub will act as a front desk for student services. Students can drop by to ask questions about student resources including academic advising appointments.
“We want our students to be successful and to explore every opportunity available to them. I’m excited to have this great new space where students can access resources in a prime location,” said Dr. Darrin Oehlerking (DMA), interim associate dean of student affairs in the College of Arts and Science.
The location is also the home of the college’s study abroad programs. It is the first dedicated site where College of Arts and Science students can learn about opportunities, awards and scholarships for studying abroad.
“This hub gives students a place to review all the study abroad possibilities available within the college and see for themselves how studying abroad can work within their degree programs. I’m looking forward to meeting more students and answering their questions,” said LaVina Watts, manager of study abroad and interdisciplinary programs in the College of Arts and Science.
Some academic advising appointments will take place on-site at the Arts and Science Student Hub, while other advising sessions will continue to happen in the Undergraduate Student Office and the Trish Monture Centre for Student Success.
The hub also features a meeting space that will host events such as information sessions and meetings with delegates from study abroad partner universities.
