Speaker Mark Doersken introduces J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium, the modern inheritor of Anglo-Saxon mythology, and examines how in the 20th century Tolkien, in works such as the Silmarillion, sought to engage with the lost tales of pre-Conquest England and in the process changed the modern fantasy landscape. This talk is part of Literature Matters: Literature in the Community Series.
